Digital Desk: India's Annu Rani became the first Indian woman to win the javelin medal by taking third place in the women's finals at Commonwealth Games 2022.

At CWG 2022, Annu won the bronze medal with a 60-meter best throw. Shilpa Rani, another javelin thrower from India, placed seventh in the competition.

Australia's Kelsey-Lee Barber won the coveted gold medal, with fellow countrywoman Mackenzie Litte coming in second. On Day 10 of CWG 2022, Rani won her first CWG medal haul, as India won four medals in the athletics competition.

Rani's first throw attempt resulted in a distance of 55.61 metres, putting her in fifth place overall. However, she fell to fifth after a string of failed tries. However, she surpassed South Africa's Jo-Ane van Dyk, New Zealand's Tori Peeters, and Canada's Elizabeth Gleadle to move up to a third place with an astonishing attempt of 60 metres on her fourth throw.
