Borgohain joined Nikhat Zareen, Preeti Pawar, and Parveen Hooda in earning a quota for the Paris Olympics with this victory in the semifinals.

Digital Desk: Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain had to settle for a silver medal at the Asian Games after her challenging bout in the final of the women's 75kg event. Despite putting up an outstanding effort, she ultimately fell short against Chinese boxer Li Qian's prowess.

Li Qian, known for her dexterous movement and strong punches, fought Borgohain fiercely. Despite the relentless attempts of the Indian boxer, Li Qian's defensive strategy and tactical edge helped her to win the gold, relegating Borgohain to the silver medal. Even for Li Qian, it wasn't an easy fight because she had to fend off Borgohain's ferocious aggression as he made every effort to shift the result in her favor.



Assam girl Lovlina Borgohain has always performed with grit and determination in the boxing ring, making India proud. Her growing list of accomplishments was further expanded by her silver medal in the Asian Games. In the thrilling final bout, the talented pugilist displayed immense grit and determination but fell short against her opponent, Li Qian, the experienced Chinese boxer.


Throughout her campaign, Lovlina showed strength and precision, thus her silver medal holds a lot of weight. This is no small accomplishment considering that she was up against other skilled campaigners from all around Asia.
