Digital Desk:  An earthquake of 4.4 magnitude on the Richter scale shook the Cachar district around 3:48 p.m. on Saturday, causing strong shocks. 


The epicentre was found near Cachar, Assam, at a depth of 43 kilometres with parameters of Latitude: 24.76 N and Longitude: 92.74 E.


According to the Cachar District Disaster Management Authority, the quake's epicentre was 13 kilometres from Sonai. 


There have been no reports of property damage or loss of life as of yet. 


In the meantime, the SDRF and NDRF teams have been deployed.
