Digital Desk: On Wednesday, approximately 16 bogies of a goods-carrying train derailed on the Kamakhya-Jogighopa railway track in Assam's Kamrup district.

The railway accident was reported near the Singra Railway Station in Boko, Assam. Several other bogies were reported to have been derailed from the moving train, with 15-16 of them being separated and falling apart. According to reports, it's been informed that the train was transporting coal.

Following the incident, the train moved roughly 200 yards away with only the feeling out 6-7 bogies.

Furthermore, the train is said to consist of  60 bogies in total. However, no one was wounded in the incident.

In wake of the Odisha's catastrophic train disaster, a similar case close to it was averted on June 3 when the engine of a train and two other bogies delinked from the remaining eight bogies and chugged down for over 600 metres in Assam's Kokrajhar.

The incident took place near Kokrajhar Railway Station, where the train's engine was delinked from the bogies; however, no serious accident occurred because the train was running at a low pace and there were no passengers on board.
