Digital Desk: The Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress on Tuesday released its list of candidates for the upcoming 13th North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council elections.
During a news conference today at the district office in Dima Hasao, state finance minister Ajanta Neog revealed a total of 28 names.
Notably, on January 8th, there will be elections for the 13th North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) in the Dima Hasao area.

Meanwhile, the results will be announced on January 12, 2024. The council, which works under the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, gives the region some autonomy, allowing for self-governance in certain administrative sectors.
The district, originally known as North Cachar Hills, was renamed Dima Hasao, which means 'Dimasa Hills' in Dimasa, however, the council retained its original name.
