Digital Desk: The Assam cabinet on Friday took a slew of key decisions at their weekly meeting held at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati.


At the summit, decisions were made regarding Assam's history, infrastructure development, reform of the Panchayat Raj System, fair compensation, the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), flood preparedness, etc.


Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired the meeting.

  • Recommending the Central Government for the complete withdrawal of AFSPA from our State

  • 10 cr financial assistance to flood-affected Himachal Pradesh

  • Introduce symbols, minimum qualifications, EVM and anti-defection norms for Panchayat elections
