Three stages will be included in the Assam election to ensure a democratic process that is fair and well-organized...

Digital Desk: Assam's Chief Electoral Officer, Anurag Goel, made several significant announcements during a news conference held in Dispur on Sunday, with the Election Code of Conduct already being enforced throughout India after the publication of the poll schedule for Lok Sabha elections.

Three stages will be included in the Assam election to ensure a democratic process that is fair and well-organized. The formal election announcement is expected to be released on March 20. The first phase of the polls is set for April 19. The deadline for submitting nominations is March 27. The scrutiny of nomination papers will begin on March 28 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers will be March 30.

On April 26, the election's second phase is scheduled to begin. Important dates include the notification date on March 28, the final date for filing nominations on April 4, the scrutiny of nomination papers on April 5, and the last date for withdrawal of nominations on April 8. May 7 is the scheduled date of the third and final phase of the Assam elections. This phase's notice date is April 12, nominations must be submitted by April 19, nomination papers must be scrutinized by April 20, and nominations must be withdrawn by April 22.

Due to its magnitude, the Assam election process requires extensive logistical planning and infrastructure. The state has 28,650 polling places set up throughout its diverse geographic and demographic range, ready to allow uninterrupted voting.

Assam's electoral journey will come to an end on June 4 when the ballots are carefully counted and the public's choice is made public. Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Goel emphasized in a press conference how crucial it is to uphold the purity and integrity of the electoral process. He emphasized the careful planning and implementation needed to guarantee free, fair, and transparent elections in Assam.
