Guwahati Police advised citizens across Guwahati should now dial 112 in case of an emergency...

Digital Desk: The Guwahati Police Department has notified that in the case of a crisis within the city borders, residents should dial 112 instead of 100.

In response to the number change, Commissioner of Police Diganta Borah stated that dial 100 has been replaced by dial 112. The number will be Guwahati's official Emergency Response Support System (ERSS).

CP Borah also stated that the ERSS service will be changed to 112 across the state and that people will be able to contact them in case of an emergency.

Individuals can dial the number for health, police, and fire emergencies, he added.

The response should be as timely as the dial 100 button.

In addition, the CP advised all landlords to maintain track of their tenants. Landlords have been instructed to report any suspicious behaviour by renters.
