With over 2.9 crore eligible voters, the Election Commission of India has put in place extensive arrangements to ensure a smooth, free, and fair voting process.


Voting will generally be held between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, though timings may vary slightly in certain areas. Authorities have urged voters, including first-time participants, to familiarise themselves with the process in advance to avoid last-minute confusion on polling day.


How to Check Your Polling Booth

· Voters are advised to confirm their polling station details before heading out. This can be done through multiple methods:

· Visiting the official voter portal using EPIC number or personal details

· Using the Voter Helpline mobile application

· Calling the voter helpline number 1950 (with STD code)

· Sending an SMS with the EPIC number to 1950

Once verified, voters can access details such as booth name, address, constituency, and part number.

The Assam Assembly Elections 2026 is one of the most significant political events of the year. Voting across all constituencies will take place in a single phase on April 9, while counting of votes is scheduled for 4th May.


The Assam Legislative Assembly comprises 126 seats, and a party or alliance requires a minimum of 64 seats to form the government.
