Digital Desk: The Assam Government is set to enhance its departmental operations through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), aiming to streamline processes and save time.

Through AI Governance, various government tasks can be completed more efficiently.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has instructed department officials to prepare a comprehensive plan for the effective use of AI across sectors.

As part of this initiative, an app will be launched to simplify the registration process of flats and land purchases in the state. This app will allow applicants to complete registrations conveniently from their homes without visiting the offices.

The Chief Minister has directed the Chief Secretary to ensure the app's launch within a year.

Initially, the system will focus on flat registrations, utilising AI to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Additionally, the Chief Minister has raised concerns about corruption in road construction projects, particularly inflated cost estimates by engineers in the Public Works Department (PWD).

He pointed out instances where project estimates for Rs 2 crore were exaggerated to Rs 6-7 crore.

To prevent such practices, the government aims to eliminate fraudulent practices and ensure transparency in project execution.
