The Assam Government's Home and Political Department has appointed Pranab Jyoti Goswami as the Chief Public Relations Officer...

Digital Desk: Pranab Jyoti Goswami, Superintendent of Police of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Assam, was appointed as the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the Assam Police on Tuesday.

The directive was issued by the Assam Government's Home and Political Department.

In the order given by Assam Government's Home and Political Department, it was stated that "In the interest of public service, Shri Pranab Jyoti Goswami, APS, Superintendent of Police (Law), CID, Assam is hereby designated as the CPRO, Assam Police with immediate effect."



The Union Ministry of Home Affairs summoned an IPS officer and the SP of Charaideo district, Yuvraj, for deputation earlier that day.  Yuvraj was appointed as the senior superintendent of police at the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)  department.

The IPS officer was appointed to his new job on the regular terms and conditions for five years starting on the date of assumption of charge or until further instructions, per the notification.
