Guwahati: The Assam Government is likely to allow inter-district public transport to resume from September 1.

A new revised SOP will be announced soon by the Assam Government and new guidelines will be released.

The Assam Transport Association has already announced that they will hike the bus fares by 50 percent.

It is to be mentioned that the Inter-District Public Transport was shut for around 5 months in Assam.

Meanwhile, the Assam Government is expected to relax the curfew timings by at least an hour. Shops and Establishments are expected to be allowed to operate till 7 pm and the curfew will begin from 8 pm all over Assam.

COVID cases have also significantly decreased in the state as the State reported 555 New Cases on Tuesday with a positivity rate of 0.59%.
