The Indian Air Force (IAF), the NDRF, and the SDRF are conducting significant search and rescue efforts. 

Digital Desk: An Assam mountaineer is one of the 28 trainee mountaineers caught in an avalanche that struck Draupadi's Danda-2 mountain summit in Uttarakhand.

The mountaineer has been identified as Deepshikha Hazarika and she is resident of Guwahati.

West Bengal, Delhi, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Assam, Haryana, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh are among the states having trainees who are stuck there.

Notably, the avalanche in Uttarakhand had claimed 10 lives as of Wednesday.

The Nehru Institute of Climbing (NIM) issued a statement stating that the avalanche injured 41 individuals, including 34 trainees and seven mountaineering instructors.
