Digital Desk: Over 20 people in Majuli, Assam, were hospitalized after suspected food poisoning, according to reports on Sunday.

Reportedly, several people fell sick after consuming prasad at a ceremony in a religious event at the residence of a man named Gobin Payeng on Saturday.

People who attended the event yesterday reportedly had nausea and other health problems. As a result, they were treated at a nearby hospital in Kamalabari.

The affected individuals were from Majuli's Janani Sonowal, Randhanichuk, and Marituni villages, according to sources.

A visit to the hospital earlier today by Majuli MLA Bhuban Gam allowed him to assess the state of the patients receiving treatment.

In addition, an investigation into the occurrence has been started. In order to ensure that none of the patients' ailments worsen, the medical experts are also keeping a close eye on every patient.
