Passengers found themselves stranded amidst cracked ceilings, broken roofs, and ankle-deep water inside the terminal...

Digital Desk: Heavy rains wreaked havoc at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati on March 31, turning the bustling hub into a scene of chaos and concern.

As one of Northeast India's largest and busiest airports, frequently hosting VVIPs like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, its significance for regional connectivity cannot be overstated.

Passengers found themselves stranded amidst cracked ceilings, broken roofs, and ankle-deep water inside the terminal, a nightmare scenario exacerbated by the persisting deluge.

Despite the valiant efforts of airport staff, water continued to pour in from unidentified sources, amplifying frustration and concern among travelers.

The timing of the flood is particularly alarming, with the upcoming IPL match scheduled to take place in Guwahati, highlighting the urgent need for infrastructure resilience and preparedness in the face of increasingly erratic weather patterns.

As the region grapples with the aftermath, attention turns to bolstering safeguards to prevent such disruptions in the future.
