Tezpur: Assam police arrested an Afghan national on Friday in Assam's Biswanath district. Police arrested the man on the grounds of travelling without proper documents

The Assam police authorities detained the man while he was about to leave a Lakhimpur-bound bus from Biswanath. The person was able to show a passport and a visa. However, police suspected the documents to be fake.

As per sources, the man had reportedly entered India on December 4, 2018. He was linked wth a garment business in various parts of the nation, including Assam.

A Biswanath court on Sunday remanded him to legal custody.
