The Assam State Primary Teachers' Association (ASPTA) decided to stay out of the state government's...

Digital Desk: The Assam government has directed all government school teachers to furnish 360-degree information about their employees and students.

Earlier this month, Ranoj Pegu, the Assam education minister, formally unveiled the Siksha Setu Axom webpage in Guwahati.

Ranoj Pegu, the education minister of Assam, posted on Twitter, "Those who say -' No Pay No Work' should support -' No Work No Pay', too. We don't have a problem with the majority of sincerely serving teachers. But some teachers do not go to school. That's why we are asking all teachers to upload their profiles to http://sikshasetu.assam.gov.in."

The Assam State Primary Teachers' Association (ASPTA) has opted out of the state government's 'Shiksha Setu' initiative. The association has decided not to collaborate with the government until the position of headmaster is filled.

The teachers' union has also accused the government of continuously depriving and deceiving them by imposing new requirements. The ASPTA has encouraged the government to address all elementary teachers' concerns.

Meanwhile, the teachers' union has decided that beginning May 22, they will return any Tablets supplied by the department for the Shiksha Setu programme if a new headmaster's advertisement is not published by May 21.

The Siksha Setu Axom portal is a broad digital platform that acts as a single source of information for the day-to-day administrative operations of schools, allowing the Education Department to make timely and data-driven decisions to optimise resources and improve school performance.
