Digital Desk: Pranjit Das, Assam's most famous actor, has died. The actor died at about 10 a.m. while receiving treatment at the Metro Hospital in Guwahati. Pranjit Das, one of the most popular actors in mobile theatre, earned a lot of love from the audience.
Das became ill a few days ago while performing in a play called 'Parshunath's Beloved' at Surya Theatre. He collapsed on stage while performing.
The actor was taken to Hatshingimari Civil Hospital in critical condition. The artist was eventually referred to Guwahati for further care and was being treated in Metro Hospital's ICU.
The actor, who has been suffering from a stroke, died today. Assam's artistic community has expressed deep sorrow over Pranjit Das' death.
