As stated by the medical team which conducted the surgery in Apeksha Hospitals today, in medical terms it is said as 'Foetus in Foeto".

Digital Desk: In the rarest case of surgery in Apeksha Hospital in Dibrugarh, three numbers of foetuses (babies) have been removed from the abdomen of a 10-months male baby.

As stated by the medical team which conducted the surgery in Apeksha Hospitals today, in medical terms it is said as 'Foetus in Foeto".

 A 10-month-old boy who had a huge abdomen and presented at Apeksha hospital was found to have 3 different foetuses removed from a single sac in his abdomen. Under the direction of paediatric surgeon Dr Hemanta Kr Dutta, paediatrician Dr Arpita Gogoi Buragohain, radiologist Dr Lakhi Pd Mlli, and a team of anesthesiologists and intensivists led by Drs. Abhinav Poddar and Megha PV, the difficult diagnosis and critical surgery were successfully completed.

 Dr Ashok Agarwal, a renowned Gynecologist of Dibrugarh and one of the Directors of Apeksha Hospitals said, "After 3 hrs of intensive surgery the baby has recovered well. It added feather to team Apeksha hospital adding the name of Dibrugarh town  and Assam in national and international forum. The total number of foetuses is three on dissection which has not yet been reported anywhere in the World."
