Digital Desk: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has altered the Mizoram counting date, moving it from December 3 to December 4.

Responding to multiple appeals for a shift, citing the significance of December 3, 2023, as a Sunday of special importance to the people of Mizoram, the EC acknowledged these requests in a recent press release.

"The Commission, having considered these representations, has decided to revise the date of counting for the General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Mizoram from 3rd December 2023 (Sunday) to 4th December 2023 (Monday)," stated EC.

This change aims to accommodate the sentiments of the populace while ensuring a smooth and inclusive electoral process.
