Due to the horrible condition of these roads, common people, school and college students, and patients face serious difficulties while commuting
Digital Desk: Severely damaged roads have become a source of daily hardship for workers of the Misa Tea Estate and local residents in Kaliabor. The deplorable condition of two key connecting roads—one linking National Highway at Misa to Keliden Tea Estate via Anjukpani, and another connecting Misa Tea Estate to Salbari—has caused immense suffering to pedestrians as well as tea garden labourers.
Due to the horrible condition of these roads, common people, school and college students, and patients face serious difficulties while commuting. Residents allege that departmental negligence has left the Misa–Keliden Tea Estate road in a miserable state for the past six years, forcing people of the tea garden areas to endure daily hardship.
The poor condition of the roads has also led to frequent minor and major accidents. Ambulance services often fail to reach the area on time because of the broken stretches, posing serious risks to patients in need of emergency care. Local residents say they have repeatedly informed the area MLA about the issue is not yet resolved.
Frustrated by years of neglect, workers of the Misa Tea Estate are now seeking change in the Kaliabor constituency, making the crumbling road infrastructure a key issue this time.
