Digital Desk: The Fireworks Industry in Barpeta is facing significant losses this year.

The industry had prepared fireworks around one crore rupees for Diwali.

However, the untimely passing of Assam's beloved cultural icon Zubeen Garg, has led to a noticeable lack of customers and diminished enthusiasm among buyers.

During what was once a bustling period filled with eager shoppers, only a handful of buyers now visit the shops.

Despite these heavy losses, the owner of the Barpeta Fireworks Industry remains resilient.

Acknowledging the challenges of sustaining life for a year without business, they are determined to endure this hardship with a smile in honour of Zubeen Garg.

As the state mourns his demise, this Diwali will be marked by a shift in tradition.

Instead of fireworks, the people of Assam will celebrate the festival of lights by illuminating their homes with traditional lamps.
