Digital Desk: A shocking robbery incident has been reported in the Bhadoi Panchali area of Duliajan.
The crime took place late at night when Sanjeev Rakhshit, owner of Loknath Jewellery, was on his way home after closing his shop.
As he approached his residence at Bhadoi No. 4 Chapatali, a group of four miscreants who were waiting on the roadside suddenly attacked him.
The attackers allegedly pushed him to the ground and snatched a bag containing gold ornaments and cash before fleeing the spot.
The businessman stated that the bag contained around Rs. 55,000 in cash and gold ornaments worth more than Rs. 20 lakh.
Following the incident, the victim lodged an FIR at the Bhadoi Police Outpost on the same night.
According to him, the miscreants had arrived on two motorcycles.
Soon after the incident, Duliajan Police reached the spot and launched an investigation. However, no arrests have been made so far.
The incident has created a sensation in the entire locality, raising concerns over security in the area.
