Guwahati: On Sunday, two Bangladeshi citizens were detained by Assam police in the Karimganj district near the Churaibari, Assam-Tripura border.

Reportedly, both the Bangladeshi nationals identified as Masum Billa (18) and Sheikh Bappi (33) entered India from Gopalganj in Bangladesh via the Akhaura border in Agartala by paying Rs. 3,000 each to a broker.

Further, during police interrogation, both the Bangladeshi nationals revealed that they had planned to go to Kolkata via Assam.

Churaibari police stated that both are under police custody and the police are continuing their interrogating for more information.
