Guwahati: Post Graduate students of Guwahati University are all set to witness a thriving contest for their upcoming Post Graduate Student's Union (PGSU) election. 

The stage is prepared for the candidates to throw up their voices and pull out the votes for their respective positions. 

For every university student, the PGSU election turns out to be a memorable event of their life. These days are full of emotions and achievements, which create a bridge for the future leadership takeover. 

This year the polls nominations began on November 22 2021. The final poll session will take place on the last day of November, i.e., November 30 2021.

As per notifications, Rajdeep Baruah, Jitu Kalita, and Biki Sarmah are contesting for General Secretary this year. Including Suman Sarmah, Hemanga Nath, and Hemen Kalita Rivalry will contest for President's post.

The notifications also highlight that this year four candidates will contest for the vice-president post. Further, three candidates will contest for the Assistant General Secretary position. 

Two candidates have nominated their names for literary secretary positions. Moreover, three candidates for music secretary and two candidates for the cultural secretary position.

There are various other departments for which students have nominated their names in this year's poll. All total, there are 14 candidates in different sections for the election.

The PGSU election also includes candidates representing All Assam Students' Union (AASU), NSUI, ABVP, ACP, etc. 

Candidates are in full swing to contest for the upcoming election. Candidates are presenting rallies and slogans as election campaign.
