Guwahati: In the latest development to the 50 crore Industrial Co-Operative bank scam, Panbazar police arrested the absconding managing director of the bank Subhrajyoti Bharali on Sunday.

Based on the FIR filed by a bank employee Gakul Talukdar at Panbazar police station, bharali was arrested under case number 551/21 by the Panbazar police.

Earlier, Nagarik Suraksha Mancha President Bhadreswar Barman also filed an FIR against eight top-level officials of the Industrial Co-Operative Bank, claiming that the top officials have done financial misappropriation and forgery in the bank of Rs. 50 crores.

However, all the accused was granted bail in case no. 489/2021 by the Gauhati High court.

Currently, Bharali was taken to Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital for a mandatory health checkup.
