Digital Desk: The 75th Cannes Film Festival began at the French Riviera on May 17. The Marche du Film, the business counterpart to the marquee event, has named India the 'Country of Honour' this year. Notably, Rajasthani folk singer Mame Khan, who was part of the official Indian delegation led by Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur, made history on Tuesday by becoming the first folk singer to open the Red Carpet for India at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

The dazzling red carpet contingent of Indian film celebrities has showcased the diversity and uniqueness of Indian cinema.
Shekhar Kapur, Pooja Hegde, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tamannah Bhatia, R Madhavan, AR Rahman, Prasoon Joshi, Vani Tripathi, and Ricky Kej were among the members of the delegation, which also included ambassadors from different regional cinemas as well as Mame Khan and Minister Anurag Thakur.
Today, Anurag Thakur opened the India Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival. Moreover, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting also released the International Indian Film Festival (IFFI) Regulation and Poster.
'India the Content Hub of the World' is the theme for this year's pavilion. It will feature Indian cinema from across the country's language, cultural, and regional divides.
