Digital Desk: A horrific road accident occurred on National Highway 27 near Moranjana in Rangia. The accident happened after a Hyundai i10 car that was travelling from  Rangia to Guwahati lost control at a diversion point on the road. The car hit the divider with great force and flipped in the centre of the road.


The vehicle, bearing registration number AS 01 AK 9357,  had reportedly been moving at high speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash. The force of the collision caused the vehicle to flip over, and it was seriously damaged.


The driver identified Nibaran Chandra Nath as critically injured during the accident.  He was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment. As per reports, Nath is a local resident of  Baihata Chariali.


The traffic police and local government came to the scene shortly after the accident in order to direct traffic as well as assist in the rescue operation. The accident has brought back the issue of road safety and the necessity to observe better signage and speed control, particularly near highway diversions.


Further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway. Passersby have urged drivers to maintain safe speeds and remain cautious on highways.
