Recently, Gupta was apprehended for acquiring assets that were out of proportion to his known sources of income.

Digital Desk: According to officials, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has seized more than Rs 20 crore in cash during searches at the premises of Rajinder Kumar Gupta, former Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of public sector undertaking WAPCOS Limited.
 
Recently, Gupta was apprehended for acquiring assets that were out of proportion to his known sources of income. CBI investigators searched Gupta's residences after filing an FIR against him and his family, according to the agency. They found documents of properties and other assets there in addition to Rs 20 crore in cash.

A centrally located, fully owned by the government business previously known as Water and Power Consultancy Services (India) Limited, WAPCOS is managed by the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
