The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday in a statement confirmed Bumrah's elimination from the tournament.


Digital Desk: Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, known for his deadly pace and fierce yorkers, has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to commence in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates from February 19 to March 9, 2025. He is out of the tournament due to a lower back injury he sustained during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.


The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday in a statement confirmed Bumrah's elimination from the tournament.


The statement said, "Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy due to a lower back injury. The Men's Selection Committee has named Harshit Rana as Bumrah's replacement."


The latest two additions of India's squad for the Champions Trophy include Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy.


The statement added, "Team India have also named Varun Chakravarthy in the squad. The spinner will replace Yashasvi Jaiswal who was initially named in the provisional squad."
