After the official announcement of Rajat Patidar as new captain, Virat Kohli expresses his happiness and says that he will provide all the guidance to Patidar.

Digital Desk: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has announced Rajat Patidar as the team's captain for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL) on Thursday. Patidar takes over the new role from Faf du Plessis who led RCB for three seasons of 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Known for his solid batting skills, the right-handed batsman Patidar will now take the responsibility of the most-loved franchise in IPL history, marking a new era. He is the 8th captain of the RCB franchise, since the cricket league's inauguration in 2008, following the footsteps of cricketing legends Rahul Dravid, Kevin Pietersen, Anil Kumble, Daniel Vettori, Shane Watson, Virat Kohli, and Faf du Plessis.

Patidar has been playing in RCB since 2022, scoring 799 runs in 24 innings at an average of 34.73, smashing a century and seven fifties. Patidar was retained by the RCB franchise with a hopping amount of Rs 11 crore in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction last year.

After the official announcement of Rajat Patidar as new captain, Virat Kohli expresses his happiness and says that he will provide all the guidance to Patidar. Offering his heartfelt wishes to Patidar for the new role, Virat says that the new captain has made a place in the fans' hearts.
