Guwahati: In the latest development in the brutal murder case of Dimple Kumawat who was murdered by her cousin in September this year, the Guwahati police have filed the charge sheet in relation to the same.

The Latasil Police has also named Kumawat’s cousin Ashish Gupta as the key accused in the crime. He had confessed to brutally killing the minor in reaction to an argument over a cigarette earlier in September.

Investigation of the crime scene and the questioning of the accused revealed that she was stabbed at least 15 times by a knife in different parts of her body. Besides, she was inhumanly hit on her head by heavy objects. Gupta also stated that he used a pressure cooker and other kitchen objects like grinding stone to hit her. This led to incessant bleeding and brain hemorrhage, resulting in her collapse. Gupta also led the police officials to the spot where he hid her mobile phone and SIM card.
