Digital Desk: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday said that the government is in an advanced stage of negotiations with a Valley-based proscribed outfit and is likely to sign a peace accord soon.
 
The Manipur Chief Minister informed reporters in Imphal today that talks are progressing and that a peace agreement is probably going to be inked soon in this regard, without disclosing the identity of the terrorist group.
 
"Yes, just that we are advancing in negotiations. And we are expecting to sign a peace accord with one big UG (underground group) very soon." Said Biren Singh. 
 
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister N Biren Singh earlier acknowledged that talks were ongoing between the government and an armed organization located in the valley. Although sources have indicated that the militant group in issue is well-known, Biren Singh has always refused to identify it.
