Later on Saturday morning, CM Sarma met with Union Forest Minister Bhupendra Yadav to get advice on how to acquire the one million saplings...

Digital Desk: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Friday to discuss the construction of a new Assam Bhawan and the search for suitable land.

"As we have decided to create a new Assam Bhawan in New Delhi, we have been hunting for land for that purpose. We sought the Lt. Governor in search of property in a suitable place because we didn't think the areas that were shown to us were appropriate for the Bhawan," CM Sarma stated.

Later on Saturday morning, CM Sarma met with Union Forest Minister Bhupendra Yadav to get advice on how to acquire the one million saplings the state government plans to plant in honour of Gandhi Jayanti.

"We have applied for a national tender for the procurement of one crore plant saplings, but we sought advice from the union minister if the centre could help us in any way," CM Sarma added.
