Digital desk: Assam police arrested a man in Cachar district for transporting explosives into the state illegally from Meghalaya on July 14.

A coordinated operation by the state police and the Assam Rifles resulted in the arrest of the 24-year-old suspect, Prosonjit Baishnab, in Cachar's Gumrah area. During the operation, the security professionals removed from a Tata Sumo 400 gelatin sticks, 400 detonators, and a few other incriminating items.

According to official reports, the enormous amount of explosives that were found in Kalain while being smuggled was coming from Meghalaya and was supposed to be sent to Manipur, where the situation is still serious.
