The Congress MLAs were offended by this and requested that the minister's usage of the word "deaths" be removed from the proceedings.

Digital Desk: On Wednesday, the opposition Congress staged a walkout in the Assembly to voice its dissatisfaction with the reply that was given regarding the Assam Accord's implementation.

Sibamoni Bora of the Congress brought up the subject during Question Time to learn more about the status of the Assam Accord's implementation.

After a six-year campaign against infiltration, the Assam Accord was signed on August 15, 1985.

Atul Bora, the minister in charge of carrying out the Assam Accord, began his response by noting that the agitation's martyrs died during the… government.

The Congress MLAs were offended by this and requested that the minister's usage of the word "deaths" be removed from the proceedings.

Speaker Biswajit Daimary intervened and ordered that the word be removed from the records.

Resuming his response, Bora argued that the goal of the Accord had not yet been achieved.

The Congress legislators left the House in protest at the response as he started to outline the specifics of the progress that had been made so far.
The minister stated in the response that a subcommittee is investigating how to put the various Accord sections into effect.

The subcommittee has already completed five rounds of discussions with stakeholders and is currently refining the path for fully implementing all of the clauses, according to Bora.
