Digital Desk: In the presence of the Registrar (i/c), Prof. Maheswar Kalita, Deans, faculty members, staff, and students, Cotton University Vice Chancellor Prof. Bhabesh Chandra Goswami today originally inaugurated the newly reconstructed  Shwahid Ranjit Barpujari Boys' Hostel.

 

The hostel can accommodate 126 people and has 60 rooms with twin and triple beds. The six-storey recently built structure with contemporary boarding house amenities. The top two levels of the hostel will house international students and research scholars, while the remaining floors will accommodate post-graduate students.

 


 

The hostel, formerly known as the 2nd Mess in the former Cotton College, was built in 1913 by the college administration at the time of British rule.

 

The Cotton Fraternity has applauded the university administration's effort. It is significant to mention that the hostel's construction was finished in just 2.5 years, despite the global Covid19 pandemic.
