Digital Desk: A horrifying incident took place at the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), where serious allegations of a newborn exchange in the ICU of the obstetrics department have surfaced.
After the tragic death of an infant at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), the latest incident at AMCH raised serious concerns among concerned people.
Serious allegations have been raised against AMCH regarding the exchange of a newborn child of a couple from Salmari, Tingkhong in Dibrugarh.
According to the allegations, Nabajit Gogoi admitted his wife, Junti Mech Gogoi, to the obstetrics department of AMCH on August 29. On the morning of August 30, Junti gave birth to a baby boy.
However, due to health complications, the doctors referred the newborn to the ICU for further care.
On Thursday evening, the parents were shocked as they alleged that the baby had been swapped while in the ICU bed.
Moreover, the staff of the obstetrics department at AMCH had threatened and intimidated the couple when they raised concerns.
The parents have filed a complaint with the Borbari police station, seeking justice in the matter.
