Digital Desk: While beef meat remains banned in Assam, incidents of illegal supply of beef continue to come to light from various corners of the state, prompting Assam police to actively crack down on such offenders as per Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's directives.

However, this time, it is not about beef meat, but the sale of pork meat has led to a tense situation. The incident took place in Halowating, Sivasagar.

In the Bangali Garigaon of Dopdar, Halowating, Nur Mohammad reportedly obstructed the sale of pork meat.

He allegedly targeted Manoj Duwara, a young man from the Ahom community who sells pork in the area.

The incident escalated tensions, with various local organisations, including All Tai Ahom Students Union (ATASU), Veer Lachit Sena, Asomiya Yuva Manch, as well as local residents, having created a heated atmosphere.

After the incident, the Halowating police has arrested Nur Mohammad. However, after the arrest, Nur expressed remorse and sought forgiveness.
