Early this morning, a couple took a tragic step on the bridge.
The woman, approaching from the Jalukbari side, was the first to jump into the Brahmaputra river.
Shortly after, a man followed her, making the same heartbreaking decision.
The Jalukbari Police and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team promptly arrived at the scene, initiating a swift response.
A search operation has been launched by the NDRF to locate the couple.
As of now, no details about the identities of the couple have been recovered.
