Digital Desk: On International Women's Day, women in Tamulpur staged a powerful protest, demanding justice and inclusion in the Orunodoi Scheme.

The women of Barkhopa village voiced their frustration over being excluded from the scheme, warning of boycotting the upcoming elections if their demands were not met.

They alleged that beneficiaries of the scheme included women involved in illicit relationships, while those without such associations were deliberately left out.

In addition to their exclusion from the Orunodoi Scheme, the protesters claimed they had been denied access to benefits from other government schemes as well.

Chanting slogans like "We need Orunodoi" and "No Orunodoi, not vote," the women created an atmosphere of urgency to push for their inclusion.

Adding to their grievances, accusations surfaced against certain political leaders who allegedly charged fees ranging from Rs 200 to Rs 500 to include names in the scheme.

The women have directly appealed to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, urging him to intervene and ensure their rightful inclusion in the Orunodoi Scheme.
