New Delhi: Experts have been saying continuously that the third wave of COVID-19 will be hitting soon, most probably by the year-end and it is likely to affect children the most.
The phase II and III trials of Covaxin for the use for children between the age of 2-18 have been going on and if all goes well the vaccine will be ready by September or just after and the trials of Zydus Cadila’s vaccine has also been going on for children.
It is to be mentioned that Zydus Cadila’s will be the first DNA vaccine available for use and apart from that there is Genova Biopharmaceuticals Ltd’s m-RNA vaccine Biological E-Vaccine and Serum Institute of India’s Novovax. There is also a vaccine being developed by Bharat Biotech that will not require a jab and will be vaccinated through Nostrils.
Meanwhile, India recorded 36,401 new Covid cases and 530 deaths in the last 24 hours.
