New Delhi: As per the recent update form the Union Ministry of Health, India has recorded a total 16,326 new cases of COVID 19 in the past 24 hours. This has taken the total tally of cases in the nation to 3,41,59,562.
However, the number of active cases have declined to 1,73,728. This has been informed to be the lowest in the last 223 days.
As far as deaths due to the virus is concerned, India recorded a big jump in terms of deaths. A new 666 deaths have been reported from various parts of the country. This has risen the death toll to 4,53,708 in total.
On the other side, 17,677 people have recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours. The current recovery rate stands at 98.16 per cent, which is again highest since March last year.
In terms of vaccinations, around 68.48 lakh vaccines have been administered in the country during the past 24 hours. This takes the total vaccine count to 101.30 crore doses. National capital New Delhi has become the first city in India to administer over 2 crore cumulative vaccine doses, followed by Mumbai and Bengaluru.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to interact with the vaccine makes of the country on Saturday.
