numerous districts in Rajasthan were issued orange and yellow alerts as cyclone
Biparjoy continued to wreak havoc in the state with torrential rain and strong
gusts.
While the Jaipur Meteorological Centre
predicts heavy rain for Tonk, Bundi, Kota, Baran, Jhalwar, Dausa, Sawai
Madhopur, and Karauli on Monday, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Jhalwar,
and Dholpur have issued orange and yellow alerts.
Rainfall of up to 12
inches has been recorded in various parts of the state in the last 24 hours,
with flood-like conditions in Pali, Jalore, Barmer, and Sirohi. The effect of
Biparjoy would be seen in Bharatpur and Kota divisions until Tuesday, according
to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre.
According to officials at the Centre, the cyclone will weaken
more and become a low-pressure area from the depression. Because of the
cyclone, Jalore received the most rain. 18 inches of rain have fallen in the
last 36 hours.

Since June 17, the newly announced district of Sanchore has also
been pounded by torrential rain. According to officials, twenty-one communities
in Sanchore experienced flood-like conditions as a result of the breaching of
the Narmada Lift Canal and Surava Dam.
