Nikhil was a first-year BA Honours in Political Science student from Paschim Vihar.

Digital Desk: On Sunday, a 19-year-old student was stabbed to death outside Delhi University's Aryabhatta College. Nikhil Chauhan, the student, was enrolled in the university's School of Open Learning and had come to the campus to attend his lessons.

Nikhil was stabbed by another student with whom he had a fight seven days before. The student allegedly misbehaved with Nikhil's girlfriend, resulting in a fight between the two.

The accused student arrived with three other students on Sunday and attacked Nikhil outside the college entrance. He was transferred to Moti Bagh's Charak Palika Hospital, where physicians proclaimed him dead.

Nikhil was a first-year BA Honours in Political Science student from Paschim Vihar.

TEAM SET UP TO NAB ACCUSED

A case has been filed in connection with the event, and police have identified the suspect. To determine the sequence of events, police will analyse CCTV cameras located in and around the crime scene. A team has been assembled to apprehend the suspects.

According to authorities, Nikhil's body has been taken into custody and will be returned to his family following an autopsy.

The occurrence was described as "unfortunate" by Delhi University, as a young life was lost right outside the college where students come to learn and develop a career. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of a precious life." God bless his soul and give strength to the family of Nikhil Chauhan in this hour of sadness," said the varsity in a statement.
