The incident occurs just one day after Punjab Police filed a FIR against two unidentified males in connection with the Wednesday shooting at the Bhatinda military post.

Digital Desk: According to reports, an Indian Army jawan committed suicide at the Bathinda military station. Laghu Raj Shankar, the deceased, was on duty when he shot himself with his gun. He died as a result of the bullet wound. The Army stated that it appeared to be a suicide attempt.

This is the same military base where four soldiers were killed in a shooting on Wednesday. According to an Army statement, the two occurrences were unrelated.

The event with the jawan killing himself occurred in the early hours of Thursday. The Army stated in a press release, "The soldier was on sentry duty with his service weapon." The soldier was discovered with a firearm and ammunition case from the same weapon. The bullet wound was located near the right temporal area. He was airlifted to the Military Hospital but died as a result of his injuries. On April 11, 2023, the soldier returned from leave."
