Daylight Theft Rocks SBI Customer Service Point in Barpeta, Over ₹2 Lakh Stolen

Thieves gained entry into the CSP and broke open the cash box, fleeing with more than ₹2 lakh in cash

Digital Desk: Today a case of daylight theft has shaken Barpeta, miscreants looted over ₹2 lakh from an SBI Customer Service Point (CSP) in Barpeta district.The incident took place at the SBI CSP located in the busy Puthimari–Kholabandha market area under Kasumara Police Station, in the Chenga constituency of Barpeta.

According to reports, the thief gained entry into the CSP and broke open the cash box, fleeing with more than ₹2 lakh in cash. The theft allegedly occurred when the CSP owner, Rafikul Islam, had briefly stepped out to offer namaz, leaving the centre open.

Following the incident, the CSP owner was left shocked and distressed, while the incident has created panic among local traders and residents.

Local people and the victim have urged the police administration to act swiftly and arrest those involved in the theft at the earliest.
