Dispur: Man Arrested for Forcible Physical Relationship Under False Promise of Marriage

Feeling cheated and violated, the woman lodged a formal complaint at the Dispur Police Station

Digital Desk: Today, 20th August,  a  young man identified as Subhankar Saikia from Dibrugarh has been arrested by Dispur Police for allegedly forcing a woman into a physical relationship under the false pretext of marriage.

As it has been reported, the accused and the woman   had been in a live-in relationship for  the last six months at a rented house  in Dispur.

The lady has alleged that,  Subhankar made physical advances by promising to marry her , however later he ended  the relationship without keeping  his words.

Feeling cheated and violated, the woman lodged a formal complaint at the Dispur Police Station. Based on the grievance, police detained and later arrested  Subhankar. He was booked  under Section-69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The case has provoked the issue of abuse and over the misuse of trust in live-in relationships. Police have already started additional investigation of the circumstances. More details are awaited as the case unfolds.
