Digital Desk: A controversial video has stirred public outrage in Assam’s Barpeta district, specifically at the Barpeta-Bongaigaon College (BB College) in Kalgachia. The recently viral video has captured the male and female student in explicitly inappropriate behavior in one classroom. In the video, the girl is portrayed sitting on the lap of the boy kissing him, a scene that many people have condemned as obscene and disrespectful particularly in a learning institution.


The incident has shocked and embarrassed locals and other students. Many parents and students as well raised concerns about the moral direction of youth in  today’s world questioning the misuse of academic spaces for such acts.  After the video surfaced , a group of students visited the college principal, Anowar Al Islam Khan with complaints. However, according to sources, the administration has yet to take any visible action.


In response, the Student Unity Forum, along with concerned students, has demanded the immediate suspension of both individuals involved .They claim that harsh disciplinary action to  be taken to preserve the image of the institution and to act as a model to others.


The attack has also fueled the debate on campus discipline, misuse of social media and how college officials can be sensitive to such incidents, acting in time to ensure swift discipline.
