Digital Desk: Sudakshina Sharma was a well-known music artist who died on 3rd July at 8: 25 am at the Gauhati Medical College.
It's been reported that she was suffering from Aspiration Pneumonia with Sepsis and Pressure sores and had been sick for a while and was being treated at GMCH.
It's sad to hear that a bright star has gone away; it's a heavy loss for the music industry of Assam.

Talking about Sudakshina Sharma was born on 8th August 1934 and at the age of 89, the artist breathed her last.
To tell you more about Sudakshina Sharma, she was Dr Bhupen Hazarika's younger sister and the wife of singer, composer and musician Dilip Sharma. After her birth, she was named Nirupama Hazarika. Her family members called her by the name Queen, later, Jyoti Prasad Agrawal named her Queen Hazarika.
It is to be mentioned that Sudakshina's father-in-law Dinanath Sharma gave her the name 'Sudakshina' for her humble and cheerful nature.
Sudakshina Sharma's career-
At the age of ten, Sudakshina Sharma recorded four songs in Calcutta, under the supervision of Bishnu Prasad Rabha, in duet with Kamalnarayan Chowdhury, including 'Nahar Phule Nuhuwai' (lyrics and melody: Bishnu Prasad Rabha), 'Bishware Chande Chande' and 'O Moina' In 1947, when Mahatma Gandhi visited the Jubilee Garden in Panbazar, she performed the song 'A Jai Raghu Nandan'.
In 2002, Sudakshina Sharma received the Sangeet Natak Academy Award, along with her husband, Dilip Sharma, for her contribution to the field of music.
Sudakshina Sharma sang songs in the films 'Maniram Dewan,' 'Chikmik Bijuli,' 'Parghat,' 'Abuj Bedona,' and 'Hepah,' among others. There are also many folk songs emanating from Sudakshina, such as Borgeet, Kamrupi folk songs, Goalparia folk songs, Bangeet, Bianam, and Bihunam.
The artist's death caused shockwaves throughout the state.
